Frequently Asked Questions
Why does design cost so much?
Hiring a graphic designer to work their magic and uplift your brand is essential to leaving a lasting impression with existing and potential clients. The look and feel of your business threads through everything from your business cards, to your website, to your social media, to your collateral - make these impressions count! By the time a potential client finds you its likely that their mind has already been saturated with information from your competitors, this is why it’s critical to stand out in the crowd. Besides all of this, I take a lot of time and conduct a lot of research to ensure that your brand strategy and design is aligned with your business goals and will attract your ideal client.
What is the design process?
Once you know what you’re after and you’re happy with your quote, I will send you over a proposal outlining the scope of work, timeline and a deposit invoice. Once the deposit has been paid I will begin to learn about your business by either jumping on a Zoom call together or by you filling out a questionnaire (depending on what is included in your package). Then comes the fun part, I will begin the research and design stage and will begin developing concepts which I will email to you. From here we enter the feedback and revision rounds, this is your chance to let me know everything you’re loving and not loving about the design / concept (via email). Once I have received your feedback I will go away and tweak your design until it is approved (you will have 2 feedback rounds). Once everything has been approved I will send you through the final invoice, once that has been paid I will send you over your final files. Piece of cake.
How do I know that I can trust your design eye?
I’ve been doing this for a long time baby, design is like my fifth and favourite limb. I invest a lot of time and energy into getting to know your business (it’s goals and values) as well as your target audience so that I can create something unique and compelling for your dream client. I’m incredibly passionate about what I do and thrive when my clients thrive, check out what some of my clients have to say here or drool over my portfolio of work here.
Can I text or call you to ask you questions or deliver you a brief?
I operate over email only but would love to answer any questions or go through any concerns you might have. Don’t be a stranger, get in touch via email@example.com.
How long does the design process take?
Each project is totally unique and will therefor vary slightly in timing. Do let me know what your deadline is at the beginning of each project and I’ll let you know if that's achievable. Once a final deadline has been confirmed I will send you a timeline in your proposal which will outline when you can expect to hear from me.
I need something done urgently - can you have it to me by tomorrow?
I love deadlines but if you need something done urgently I’m afraid I’m not the right designer for you. I pride myself on well thought out, effective design and like all good things, this takes time.
I’ve already seen the exact design that I want - can you re-create it and put my name on it?
Nope, sorry. There is a reason why that design has already been used and I can guarantee that reason does not fit with your brand goals or target audience. I definitely want to see what stuff is inspiring you and attracting you, but from there let me do the hard yards and create something totally unique for you. It’s that whole “standing out from the crowd” thing, remember?
What if what I want isn't on your price list?
Not a worry in the world. I’m itching to hear about your project. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know what you have in mind and I can develop a customised quote for you.
What’s the payment schedule?
I require a 50% deposit to secure your project in my schedule before commencing any design work. The remaining balance will need to be paid upon completion of the project before any final files are handed over to you.
I’m ready to invest in my business and get this show on the road, what’s next?
Amazing, go you good thing. Let’s make this happen! Send me an email at email@example.com and let me know what service you’re after, your deadline and any other information related to the project.
